Timber frame technology has been with us for over a thousand years. Although a lost art until late in the 20th century, the revival surges ahead. New tools, faster techniques, technologically advanced protective envelopes, as well as a renaissance in thinking about the importance of structure in our lives have allowed the time-tested timber frame building process to come to the fore. Still held together with only 1" oak pegs, but raised with huge cranes. Still utilizing the same beautiful beams, but often computer designed. Timber framing brings the legacy of our forefathers into the 21st century.
